.Faith, Love & Covenant...
is doing on earth what God would do for others What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has
faith but does not have works?
Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? ---
James
2:14-17
|
The
Apostle James plainly says this ...
that unless we also minister to the physical man, ... giving those in need what they lack ... What have we really done? NOTHING! And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. ---

John
4:20-21
LOVE to GIVE,
to be there for others. God's heart, & the heart of Covenant Ministries |
|
|
Covenant
Ministries' vision and mission
is to touch
and change the lives
of people around
the world, Spirit, Soul & Body!
By teaching and training pastors & leaders, ... through the Covenant Disciples Bible Courses. By teaching the youth to help themselves, ... through the Street Kidz Project. By helping those who cannot help themselves, ... through the Covenant Home Orphanage |
|---|
Covenant
Ministries teaches people to trust God &
He will meet their need.
Well that is the truth and what God wants us to do, but like James said ... unless we also demonstrate that, ... unless we also give into those needs, ... those words are empty! A major resource in Africa is fertile
land, and whilst
on one of my
teaching trips in Kenya in early 2004, just
enjoying the beautiful green countryside, this
thought dropped in my spirit ...... There are unused patches of ground everywhere, and food is always needed everywhere! Why
not try to get the use of some of these patches
of land to help homeless youngsters
learn to help themselves. Covenant STREET KIDZ project was born! Having secures the use of some land, we took our first 3 Street Kidz, found a hut for them to stay in on the land, under adult supervision, registered them at a local school, and are teaching them to work the land and fend for themselves. ![]() The boys with Joe on a newly turned acre of land ... on their way to school After two very successful harvests, the project is showing itself successful, and we are at present busy adding another 3 kidz to the project and intend to continue increasing the project! |
Praise
God, His vision is always greater and not
limited to our abilities.
On the land we have temporary use of, there is also a house ... A HOUSE! The family that had been living in it had moved out and we were offered the house on a temporary basis (with also the option to purchase it) ... A House ... a Home ... an Orphanage! Covenant HOME was born! Before
we could even properly clean and prepare the home, our first 5 little
orphans were knocking on the door ... and
as can be seen from the picture taken in the boys
bedroom, much is still to be done. The
house has room for 3 bedrooms, a
kitchen and store, and a dining
and recreation area
Other than food, clothing, medical attention and other daily requirements, we need to fully furnish, paint and do some maintainance work on the home. We have approached some local business people for assistance and have had some good reception, and we trust to develop these contacts and receive some good support. The major need is of course the regular monthly expenses, and here we are looking to you our supporters and partners, to support us on a regular basis. ![]() UPDATE
...
As
of the beginning of December, Covenant
Home Orphanage has grown to 10 little orphans, which is 2/3rds
of our initial plan ...
It is certainly exciting and we trust that you share our excitement in this project. For
more information please contact us .
