Taking
the responsibility - for your life!
|
When you ask most anyone, who is responsible for sickness, problems or any of the things that so often go wrong in our lives? … some blame God or circumstances, … some take the blame themselves, although most blame the devil. And, looking at what happened in the Garden of Eden, it seems obvious that satan is at the root of sin, sickness, problems and trials in our lives! However, is he responsible for it affecting our lives? That may well seem a bit ambiguous, yet when read in conjunction with what James said about the same question, … James is saying the same thing! My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. --- Luke 22:42 James tells us to count it all joy when we have problems! Saying also that this testing actually produces some good in our lives! Therefore, if the devil is really to blame for what goes wrong in our lives, … yet God says this testing is for our good, can we really blame the devil for it? Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. --- Luke 22:42 and although James says it is not God who is tempting us, … can the devil’s work really do some good in our lives? God is a Holy God, and so is Jesus, our Lord. Yet the Bible only refers to God’s Spirit as - The HOLY Spirit! Why doesn't the Bible speak about The Holy God. Why doesn't the Bible speak about The Holy Jesus, but only about The Holy Spirit? Is it because the Holy Spirit represents God’s holiness? Is it because the Holy Spirit carries God’s holiness? Is it because the Holy Spirit manifests God’s holiness? Or, is the Holy Spirit the holiness of God? Whether or not all or just one of the above is right, the question really is, … which one describes the person of the Holy Spirit? The best starting point is to look at what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever - the Spirit of truth, --- John 14:16-17 Interestingly, Jesus spoke of the Spirit of truth, and not of the Holy Spirit? When we look at what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit, … about His ministry as the Spirit of truth, it seems that we probably missed the fullness of the person of the Holy Spirit, … by separating Who He is from what His ministry is!
