Righteousness of Faith  


Although the words ‘faith’ & ‘righteousness’
are words we seem to know, nevertheless
there is a dimension or reality in them
we do not fully understand,
… and therefore do not live!

You see the reality of life is in living life,
and not merely knowing about life.
So also the reality of God and God’s Word
lies not just in knowing it,
… but living it,
as Jesus Himself said to us …

… I have come that they may have life,
and that they may have it more abundantly.
--- John 10:10

Yet living this life is not something
… I can do because of what Jesus did for me, but
because of who I am because of what Jesus did for me,
… and how I live because of who I am in Him!

Concerning this,
Abraham is probably the best example of,
… life because of Jesus!

Let’s have a look at Abraham’s life,
  and his example to us regarding faith
... and righteousness.

What is the reality of the Righteousness of Faith
... in our daily lives?
We so often look at what God promised.
… at what Abraham believed?
But, what happened in Abraham’s life?
… what did Abraham do?

He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief,
but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,
and being fully convinced that what He had promised
He was also able to perform. And therefore
"it was accounted to him for righteousness."
 --- Rom 4:20-22

Abraham was convinced that God could and would do
... what He promised!
Abraham stepped out in that trust, that faith in God!
And God did what he had promised Abraham,
… Sarah had the promised son,
… Abraham and his seed were blessed!

What about us?

God wants us to do the same,
... to rest in what He has done.
Consider this …
God does not do what you can do!
… that is your responsibility!
But, God wants to do what you cannot do!

A new beginning!
After attending the Covenant Ministries conference in Kitale during June on Faith, where Pastor Jan taught about Faith, Hope and Love, I came to realize that when one walks in love, he will see the goodness of God. I took three leaders from our church with me and for sure the training also empowered them and now I can say that we are heading somewhere.
From that time till today, my life has changed and our ministry has received a fresh life.
God bless you Pastor Jan for bringing such a wonderful teaching.

... by their fruits!

Great work of God is happening in Nandi
Hills region since Pastor Jan’s visit here.

Firstly, we now have two Covenant Disciples Bible Course classes, the certificate class &
the diploma class.
Secondly most of the students who graduated from the Covenant Disciples Bible Course are now pastors with growing churches.
Thirdly, everyone who got involved in the training and who graduated, have changed their ways of thinking. People are beginning to see the importance of this training & the Nandi Hills community has become productive because of this.
We had been praying for such training for years and we thank
God that we now have a Bible Training Centre close to us.
God bless Pastor Jan and Covenant Ministries for coming to us.
